Olivine's natural reaction with rainwater deacidifies the soil and inhibits the growth of algae and weeds. As a result, the half-surface retains its original color in contrast to other half-surfaces that turn green over time.

What layer thickness do I need?
The layer thickness depends on the substrate. In general, we recommend a layer thickness between 10-12 cm. After rolling on, a layer of 6-7 cm remains. With a softer surface you will have to apply thicker than with a harder surface. It is also possible to first place a mixed granulate under the semi-pavement.

What do you mean by maintenance friendly?
Olivine's natural reaction with rainwater deacidifies the soil. This prevents the growth of algae which ensures less maintenance compared to other handier semi-paved surfaces.
How much CO₂ do I clean up?
The biggest gains are made by using greenSand as an alternative. Since other semi-surfaces do not clean up CO₂ and only emit CO₂. The amount of CO₂ you clean up depends on the amount of weight you need for your project. You can assume 1 ton of CO₂ per 1 ton of Olivine. In reality, you will clean up more than 1 tonne of CO₂ per tonne of Olivine. However, we keep a part of the CO₂ behind for our own account, in connection with transport, grinding, etc.
What makes the semi-pavement permeable to water?
In the Netherlands we have been experiencing heavy rain showers lately. Our semi-paved surfaces have an angular structure, which makes it very permeable to water. In addition, this also ensures good hook resistance. This makes the greenSand semi-pavement an ideal solution for cycling and walking paths without water puddles.
